Detours are necessary too 😊😊😊

A travel of firsts

My most anticipated trip had come!!! This by far has been the most exciting, not to mention frustrating, travel I have encountered. But oh let's forget the frustrating part. I came to enjoy and unwind, so who cares about a few (?) obstacles along the way. It,after all, just brings out the best in the trip. So here we go.

Just a few days ago, news has it that there will be a typhoon coming to the country. And it will affect Ilocos region. I was like, 'oh my? Really? How come?'. But who am I to question such? So, I watched the news and kept track of the typhoon (as if waiting for my favorite teleserye on tv,haha ). My mom even adviced me to pray and seek for petition, which I did everyday just to have this push through. I have mentioned in my previous article that we have been facing lots of obstacles along the way for this trip. We sought the intercession of lots of saints, and God always provides his answers at the right time. He might be a joker, but He always made sure that we have an option.. How powerful He is..

Friday, August 21

Our scheduled flight for Manila at aupposedly 10:30am has been delayed and changed to 1:20.. My friend aske the ground crew if there would be an earlier floght than that. Luckily, she said yes and we got the 12:05 flight. So after gping thrpigh all security measures and all, we waited. And we found out that the flight was delayed. Now it was 12:45. Oh ok, I thought. Since the weather was not really that much good, one delayed flight can cause the same chain reaction. 12:30 came and they announced boarding. Excitement, or should I say because we wanted to ride the plane already, we stood up immediately and went to the line. (Haha, gusto na umalis ng lola nyo!! Nangangati na ang paa!! ). And so we flew. ✈️✈️✈️

Shortly before landing, we were informed that Air Traffic Control won't allow us to land as of the moment. For about 15-25 minutes, we were up in the air, stalling our landing. I understand some things are meant to happen for a certain reason. And after about 25 minutes, we safely, though not perfectly, landed.

When I switched on my phone, i received this message from our tour provider asking us if our flight to Laoag was not cancelled. I told Ms. Amie that as of the moment, I had no idea since we just landed in naia. When I had it checked, it was indeed cancelled. We asked for options, and we ended having the flight refunded.

Since we already are in Manila, we decided to take a bus ride going to Laoag. Taking the 8:30 trip,as of this writing (August 22 2:26 am), we are currently in Santiago, Ilocos Sur. I guess we will arrive in Laoag by 5am. In between sleeps, I came across to writing this blog to have our trip chronicled.

Indeed, it is more fun the Philippines ...
